The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – How to prepare for it?

The TMT/IP Practice of Linklaters’ Warsaw office has the pleasure of inviting you to a breakfast on:

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – How to prepare for it?

Organisations throughout Europe are preparing for the biggest reform of the European personal data protection system for over two decades, stemming from the adoption of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The GDPR will start applying directly throughout the European Union as of 25 May 2018.

14 September 2017 saw the appearance of a package of Polish laws implementing the GDPR, for which the Ministry of Digital Affairs is responsible. The publication of the draft laws will begin a monthly period of social consultations, and the entire legislative process should already be completed this year.

During the Seminar:
  • we will be talking about the package of laws implementing the GDPR and updating 133 other laws, and about their impact on your organisations;
  • we will be sharing our experiences in implementing the GDPR in various entities – what to draw attention to and how to plan work so as to get things done by May 2018;
  • we will be giving hints on how to prepare for the GDPR from the legal, procedural and technological perspectives.
The seminar will provide an opportunity to ask all sorts of questions, in particular, how to deal with specific challenges posed by the GDPR (profiling, new marketing consents, appointing a DPO, the right to be forgotten etc.).

The speakers will be Agnieszka Mencel, who heads the TMT/IP Practice at Linklaters Warsaw, and our guest Jakub Walarus, manager of the IT Advisory team at EY.

The seminar will be held in Polish.
