Overview

Claire is a Managing Associate in Linklaters’ Corporate practice with a focus on Sustainability.

Claire has a background advising on a range of corporate transactions including public and private M&A and equity capital markets transactions. Her recent work focuses on the environmental and social aspects of strategic transactions and investments across multiple sectors. Claire also advises on ESG regulation, including the EU sustainable finance package, the TCFD, greenhouse gas reporting, product safety, and modern slavery and human rights laws. She regularly advises on confidential risk, governance and crisis matters and the development of effective governance and compliance functions.

Currently based in London, Claire has also spent time in the firm's Hong Kong office. She spent two years on internal secondment working for Linklaters Senior Partner and Chairman Charlie Jacobs.

  • BP: advising on the environmental aspects of the US$5bn sale of BP's Acetyls and Aromatics businesses to INEOS.
  • Various clients: advising on the environmental, health and safety aspects of a number of complex international private M&A transactions (both buy and sell sides).
  • Two major corporations: advising on the strategic, regulatory, crisis management and project management aspects of two major corporations' responses to separate high-profile product liability incidents.
  • IFM Investors: advising on the disposal of its 40% stake in 50 Hertz Transmission, the German electricity transmission business.
  • intu plc: advising on its aborted merger with Hammerson plc.
  • advising on the London IPOs of ASA International, ContourGlobal, Countryside Properties and Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank.

Professional experience

Claire is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales.

She is Co-Chair of the Firm’s ESG Corporates Working Group and a D&I Champion for the Linklaters Corporate Division.

Claire has spent time on secondment to our Hong Kong office and to the office of the Linklaters Senior Partner and Chairman.

Education and qualifications

Claire holds a first class degree in Law from Jesus College, University of Cambridge.
