Education and qualifications


Nick is a corporate partner who focuses on cross-border M&A and private equity work. He has considerable cross-border experience, having been based in New York, Asia and Russia and advising on deals involving a number of jurisdictions. Over the past 20 years, Nick has led on many pioneering transactions, expertly assisting clients to branch out into new and emerging markets. 

Nick has held a number of high-profile roles within the firm. He was co-managing partner of the firm’s New York office for four years and was head of the firm’s corporate practices in Asia and Russia for five and three years respectively. Most recently, he was the head of the firm’s private equity practice in London.

Work highlights

Nick has led on a wide range of complex multi-jurisdictional deals. These include advising:

  • DP World on its acquisition of Unifeeder, a pan-European shipping logistics company, from Nordic Capital 
  • Apollo EPF Fund on its acquisitions of Altamira Asset Management, GE Money’s Spanish mortgage loan portfolio and Bank of America’s Irish credit card business 
  • Siemens on its acquisition of Rolls-Royce Energy’s global aero-derivative and gas turbine business 
  • Schneider Electric on its takeover of Invensys 
  • Hastings Funds Management and J.P. Morgan Asset Management on the acquisition of U.S. power station assets from Black Hills Corporation 
  • Citi on the Citibank/IBM/China Life/CITIC/State Grid consortium’s acquisition of Guangdong Development Bank 

Education and qualifications

Nick studied law at Wadham College, Oxford University.
