European Commission consultation on guidelines for reporting non-financial information

The European Commission has published a consultation paper seeking views on the scope of guidelines to assist the reporting of non-financial information under Directive 2014/95/EU (on disclosure of non-financial and diversity information by certain large undertakings and groups).

The Directive requires large EU undertakings which are public interest entities with over 500 employees to disclose information on environmental, social and employee matters, respect for human rights and on anti-corruption and bribery matters for financial years commencing on or after 1 January 2017. It also requires the European Commission to publish guidelines on reporting such information before December 2016.

The consultation closes on 15 April 2016. It can be found here.
