Overview
Mark acts on a wide range of domestic and cross-border finance transactions, in particular on structured finance and real estate finance transactions. He also acts on leveraged finance and investment grade finance lending, securitisations, project finance, derivatives and other finance transactions.
One of the sectors that Mark focusses on is Sports. As a member of the firm’s Sports Sector, he is an active contributor to the firm’s sports law blog, SportingLinks.
Mark is an English-qualified solicitor, who has also worked in London, Hamburg and Hong Kong.
Work highlights
- The sponsors: advising on a development facility agreement financing the construction and operation of Amsterdam The Style Outlets, the first outlet centre in the Randstad region of the Netherlands.
- VTTI: advising on financing the acquisition of a 50% interest in a 119,200 m3 chemicals storage terminal in Dalian, China.
- The lenders: advising on a revolving credit facility for a leading online food delivery marketplace.
- The lenders: advising on the sale of Stage Entertainment to Advance Publications and the refinancings of its €415m credit facilities agreement.
- The purchaser: advising on bidding for, acquiring and financing the acquisition of a number of non-performing loan portfolios of UK, Irish and Spanish real estate loans.
- Intu Properties plc: advising on the establishment of a multi-source debt platform by way of a £5 billion MTN programme and bank facilities based on the securitisation of four of its UK shopping centre businesses.
Professional experience
Mark started his career as trainee solicitor in Linklaters’ London office in 2012, qualifying as a Solicitor of England and Wales in 2014. He has spent time in Linklaters’ London and Hong Kong offices and is now stationed in Amsterdam. Mark has been seconded to the legal team of Merrill Lynch Commodities Europe in London and has also worked at other leading international law firms in London and Hamburg.
Mark is a member of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee of Linklaters’ Amsterdam office.
