Overview

Marta is a Polish qualified lawyer (radca prawny) and a Managing Associate in the Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations practice. She has over 10 years of experience in dispute resolution and arbitration. She represents clients before domestic and foreign courts as well as in commercial and Investor-State arbitrations under various rules including ICC, SCC, UNCITRAL, KIG as well as before the Court of Arbitration for Sport of the Polish Olympic Committee.

Marta specializes in matters of civil and commercial law. Her experience includes high profile civil liability disputes, class actions, contentious competition and private enforcement. Marta also represents clients before the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection and Financial Supervision Authority.

She assists clients from various sectors, including financial, real estate and infrastructure as well as private equity funds, and has acted for and advised various national sport associations and sports federation.

Marta is the author of a number of publications in the field of civil procedure law and arbitration.

  • PL Holdings, a subsidiary of Abris Capital Partners: advising and representing in investment arbitration proceedings against the Republic of Poland at the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce in an uncompensated expropriation case
  • The concessionaire of a highway in Poland: representing in a commercial arbitration against the Ministry of Infrastructure in an UNCITRAL ad hoc arbitration.
  • Polish largest manager of railroad infrastructure: representing in disputes concerning fees for access to railroad infrastructure and in connection with improper implementation of the EU directive with a total dispute value exceeding PLN 2 billion. 
  • Subsidiary of Swedish investment company: representing in proceedings before a Swedish court regarding claims for compensation associated with the M&A transaction in Poland.
  • Polish leading banks: representing in a class action concerning Amber Gold.
  • Energy company: representing in a dispute concerning an extraordinary change of circumstances and the legal environment in Poland relating to a wind farm sale agreement.
  • Several leading Polish banks: representing in several dozen individual proceedings and class actions in cases involving mortgage loan agreements denominated or indexed to foreign currencies. 
  • The largest Polish manufacturer of railway vehicles: representing in arbitration proceedings before the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce.

Education and qualifications

Marta holds a law degree from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. She obtained a scholarship of the Faculty of Law at the University of Alcalá in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid.

She speaks Polish, English and Spanish.
