Gender pay gap reporting – new regulations

The government has published draft regulations requiring employers with 250 or more UK employees to publish information about their gender pay gap from 2018. The employer itself does not have to be based in the UK, or a legal entity, for the rules to apply. These regulations follow last year's consultation on potential ways to reduce the gender pay gap in the UK. There will be a short second consultation on the draft regulations.

Further measures to be introduced will include publishing a "league table" of the pay gap by sector from 2018.
