Linklaters’ advises L'Oréal on the €1 billion (£877m) exclusive negotiations in connection with the sale of The Body Shop to Natura
Linklaters has fielded a multi-jurisdictional team to advise L'Oréal, the world’s leading beauty company, on the €1 billion (£877m) exclusive negotiations in connection with the sale of The Body Shop to Brazilian cosmetic company, Natura Cosméticos SA.
The transaction was led by Vincent Ponsonnaille (Corporate Partner, London), Laurent Victor-Michel (Corporate Partner, France), Alexander Naidenov (Banking Partner, London) and Christopher Yip (Corporate Counsel, Hong Kong).
The team were supported by London Managing Associates, Chris Boycott (Corporate) and Julia Stapelfield (banking). In Paris the lead associates were Benoit Allouis, Valentin Lefebvre and Benoît Martin. Competition aspects of the deal were led by French Competition partner, Anne Wachsmann.
The sale is subject to the consultation of L'Oréal works council and regulatory approval notably in Brazil and in the United States. The proposed transaction is expected to close during 2017.
