Linklaters advises the KanAm Grund Group on its first transaction in Poland
Linklaters has advised KanAm Grund Group (which acted on behalf of the Leading Cities Invest fund), on the acquisition of the Renaissance office building located in the centre of Warsaw from Patrizia Immobilien Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft (which acted on behalf of GLL Real Estate Partners (GLL)). This is the first transaction of its kind in Poland for the KanAm Grund Group.
The Renaissance building was built in 1902 and is located at Plac Zbawiciela, one of the most prestigious intersections in Warsaw. Its total area is 5 250 sq m. and includes Class A office space, a commercial area as well as an underground car park. Following the reconstruction and conversion of the building to accommodate office space in 2006, it was awarded an A-level BREAM certificate. The building’s current tenant is the Polish arm of the international media group Viacom Media Networks.
The Renaissance building joins the Leading Cities Invest fund’s portfolio, featuring 22 properties across 16 locations in Germany, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Switzerland and Poland. The portfolio includes properties designated for a diverse range of uses, including offices, hotels, industrial and logistics facilities as well as medical facilities.
The transaction was led by Linklaters Warsaw real estate Partner Janusz Dzianachowski who was assisted by Mateusz Cieślak (associate), Monika Lerka (senior associate), Jędrzej Pałka (associate) and Aleksander Krzeszowiak (junior associate) from the real estate practice and by Krzysztof Górny (senior associate) from the corporate practice.
