Linklaters hosts Powerful Women Ambassadors’ reception in London office
Linklaters was honoured to host the Powerful Women (PfW) network’s ambassadors’ reception at its London office on Wednesday 6 December.
PfW seeks to advance the professional growth and leadership development of women in the UK energy sector where only 7% of executive board seats are occupied by women and almost half of the top 80 UK energy companies have all-male boards. Through campaigning, reporting and mentoring, PfW hopes to greatly improve gender diversity in the sector and has set targets of 40% middle management and 30% executive board positions to be women by 2030.
The initiative is supported by highly influential individuals in the energy sector, who act as ambassadors to drive PfW’s gender diversity targets. On the evening, the group’s ambassadors were welcomed by Linklaters’ Francesca Matthews and were addressed on gender diversity issues by Vandita Pant, Group Treasurer of BHP, and Baroness Verma, co-founder of PfW.
