Bribery Act 2010 – Are your employment documents in order?

You may have been involved in developing bribery and anti-corruption policies for your organisation to reflect the provisions of the Bribery Act 2010 (which comes into force on 1 July 2011) for some time. In the race for compliance with the requirements of the Act, specific employment law issues arising out of the Bribery Act might have been overlooked. If so, now is the time to ask:

Do your organisation’s employment contracts need amending?

Is your handbook sufficiently up to date?

Does your organisation’s recruitment policy or the way it is implemented need to be reviewed?

Has the disciplinary policy been amended/enough thought been given to how suspicions under the Bribery Act will be dealt with in practice?

Should any amendments be made to bonus/commission plans?
