The FCA Business Plan and Mission Statement – A framework for the year to come and beyond

On the 18th April 2017 the FCA published its updated Mission Statement and Business Plan for 2017/18.

The Mission Statement sets out the framework for the FCA’s approach when making strategic decisions, the reasoning behind the work and the way it chooses the tools to carry out that work. The final version of the Mission Statement follows the FCA’s consultation on the Mission published in October 2016. The Mission Statement provides at a high level, an overview of why the FCA regulates in the way it does.

The Business Plan for 2017/2018 has set out its work plan and priorities for the coming year. This year the FCA has set out its Business Plan by reference to six cross sector priorities and seven sector priorities which gives us a rather more detailed view of the coming year, as well as a clear picture of the over-arching shape of the FCA’s plan.
