Singapore adopts Deferred Prosecution Agreements

In March 2018, the Singapore Parliament passed the Criminal Justice Reform Act (the “Act”).

Among other things, the Act introduces a legislative framework for the use of deferred prosecution agreements (“DPAs”), with the aim of allowing the public prosecutor to resolve alleged instances of economic crime by commercial organisations more quickly and appropriately than under current procedures.
