Winter 2018 Trustee Agenda

Welcome to our final edition of Trustee Agenda for 2018.

In this edition we focus on the long-awaited and complex GMP equalisation case, Lloyds Banking Group Pensions Trustees v Lloyds Bank PLC and others, highlighting the impact of the case on various pensions scenarios and issues trustees should consider.

We also place the spotlight on the Pensions Regulator’s new flexible regulatory approach coupled with an emphasis on increased intervention for all schemes.

With an eye to 2019 we look at the imminently closing window for Master Trust authorisation and how the broad scope of a ‘Master Trust scheme’ could result in some multi-employer schemes being inadvertently caught by the new Master Trust regime.

Finally, we draw attention to the new requirements for trustees to take account of environmental, social and governance factors in their investment decisions.

As always, do let me know if there are any particular topics or issues you would like to see covered in future publications of Trustee Agenda.

In the meantime, all best wishes for the festive season and the new year.

In this issue:
  • Master Trust authorisation: Countdown to 1 April 2019
  • New investment and disclosure obligations
