Savi is a corporate partner based in London and leads the India Group’s corporate offering. He is qualified in England & Wales, India and New York and specialises in advising international companies and PE houses on their Indian transactions and Indian corporates on their international M&A. He has strong relationships with many leading international-facing Indian corporates, particularly in the energy, chemicals and pharmaceuticals sectors. Key clients include Reliance Industries, Dr Reddys and UPL.

Work highlights

Recognised as a leading M&A lawyer by Chambers Global and Chambers Asia Pacific 2017, Savi has recently led on a number of high-profile Indian M&A deals including:

  • Rosneft on the US$12.9bn acquisition of a minimum 49% equity stake in Essar Oil and its joint venture with a consortium of international investors
  • Reliance Industries Limited on the disposal of its East African petroleum storage, wholesale and retail operations and distribution business in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda under the GAPCO brand to Total
  • BP on its landmark US$9bn acquisition of 30% stake in 23 oil and gas production blocks in India from Reliance Industries
  • Unilever on the US$5.4bn (£4.5bn) voluntary offer to increase its stake in Hindustan Unilever, its publicly listed Indian subsidiary
