Overview

Phil is a Managing Associate and specialises in the structuring, formation and distribution investment funds as well as other investment products in the field of alternative investments, in particular real estate, private equity, infrastructure, private debt and renewable energy.

Moreover, he advises institutional investors with respect to their investments in investment funds. Phil also has experience in joint ventures, asset management M&A and secondary transactions.

His experience includes advising: Affinius, Aurelius, Barings, BlackRock, BNP Paribas, CBRE Investment Management, Commerz Real, GARBE, Hines, IntReal, LINUS Digital Finance, Migros Pensionskasse, Moonfare, MUFG Bank, Southern Ridges Capital, several sovereign wealth funds and TUI.

 

Professional experience

Phil has been working as lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) since 2017. He joined Linklaters in 2019 as an Associate in the Investment Funds practice. In 2021, he was appointed Managing Associate. Since July 2023 he is seconded to the Investment Funds team of the Linklaters London office.  

Before joining Linklaters, he worked from 2017 to 2019 as a real estate lawyer at another international law firm, most recently as a Senior Associate.

Phil heads the PrideLink Network at Linklaters since 2019. 

 

Education and qualifications

Phil studied law at Humboldt University of Berlin and graduated in 2014 with the First Legal State Examination. He completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Berlin (Kammergericht Berlin) with assignments at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, the German Federal Foreign Office (German Embassy in Bangkok), and graduated with the Second Legal State Examination (bar exam) in 2016.

He speaks German and English.
