Overview

Tim advises multinational and German corporations and financial institutions on all aspects of national and international taxation. He has particular experience in advising sellers and purchaser on tax aspects of M&A transactions, reorganisations of corporate groups and internal tax investigations. A further focus of his work are tax audits and tax controversies.

His recent experience includes:

  • Montagu: advising on the sale of a minority participation in Universal Investment to CPP Investments 
  • Aurelius: advising on the sale of Distrelec Group to RS
  • Körber AG: advising on the acquisition of the mail and parcel business from Siemens Logistics
  • HSBC: advising on the acquisition of the mail and parcel business from Siemens Logistics
  • Garbe: advising on setting up its new pan-European logistics fund and the fund´s acquisition of a seed portfolio
  • McKesson: advising on the sale of parts of its European business to Phoenix and the Austrian business to Quadrifolia Management
 

Professional experience

Tim has been practicing as a tax lawyer since 2016. In 2020, he was also appointed as a certified tax advisor. He joined Linklaters in 2019 and was elected Managing Associate in 2021. Prior to Linklaters, he was an associate in the tax department of a leading US law firm in Hamburg and Munich.

Education and qualifications

Tim studied law at the University of Hamburg with a focus on tax law. He completed his legal training inter alia at the tax departments of international law firms in Hamburg and London, the tax administration and a tax court.

In 2020, he completed the tax advisor exam and has been admitted as a certified tax advisor since.

He speaks German and English.
