Amenedment to the FIEA for foreign investment managers

The amendment to the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act of Japan became effective on 22 November 2021. 

In this newsletter, we summarise the established two new exempted business categories: (i) Specially Permitted Business for Transition Period, and (ii) Specially Permitted Business for Foreign Investors, under which the foreign investment managers may conduct an investment management business and related marketing activities in Japan.
