Overview

Mark Hsen is an associate in the Finance Group of Linklaters’ New York office. Mark has experience advising clients on a variety of cross-border finance transactions, with particular experience representing corporate clients and investment banks with debt securities offerings and special purpose acquisition company (“SPAC”) transactions. Mark also advises clients on SEC compliance and reporting, governance issues and general corporate and securities law matters. 
  
Mark is strongly committed to community and pro bono service, including advising and representing clients in connection with immigration and non-profit corporate matters.  

Mark is conversational in Mandarin Chinese.

Work highlights

Mark has acted for clients on a variety of capital market transactions. Highlights including advising:

  • Azure Power: advising HSBC on the SEC-registered rights offering by Azure Power, a NYSE-listed renewable power producer in India.
  • ENGIE on the $1.4bn pending business combination between EVBox Group and TPG Pace Beneficial Finance Corp., a SPAC formed by TPG and listed on the NASDAQ.
  • National Grid subsidiaries on their U.S. debt offerings.
  • Swedbank on its various notes offerings.

Education and qualifications

Mark holds a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, graduating cum laude. He was an Annual Survey Editor for the American Criminal Law Review. Mark also earned his Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland College Park.
