Overview

Chris is an English law qualified lawyer who has been based in the firm’s Warsaw office since 2016. He advises international corporates, financial institutions and private equity clients on private and public M&A transactions, joint ventures, equity capital raisings and commercial agreements with a particular focus on Poland, Turkey, Ukraine, the wider CEE region and emerging markets.

Before moving to Warsaw, Chris worked for a number of years in the firm’s London office and was seconded to the Legal Corporate/ M&A team of RBS in Edinburgh. He also spent time on secondment with Linklaters in Hong Kong.

Work highlights

His recent transaction experience includes advising:

  • KFC on its entry into corporate and master franchise agreements with three separate investors involving the sale of business assets and the implementation of an all-new and bespoke franchise model for each of the Netherlands, Italy and Germany
  • Qatar Investment Authority on the acquisition of an approx. 20% interest in the D.ream International global fine dining group, whose brands include the well-known Nusr-et (founded by Salt Bae) and Zuma
  • Mirova on its investment in Sunly, an independent power producer based in Estonia, as part of a fundraising of a total amount of EUR 200m
  • Orange Polska on the auction sale of a 50% stake in its fibre-to-the-home business in Poland to APG, including its entry into a joint venture with APG
  • Interxion, a Digital Realty company, on its acquisition of Greece's largest data centre company, Lamda Hellix
  • Carrier Global Corporation on its acquisition of Nlyte Software, a leader in data centre infrastructure management (DCIM) software, from a diverse community of sellers, including venture capital funds, individual founders and employees

Education and qualifications

Chris studied Modern & Renaissance History at the University of Warwick and subsequently completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in London.
