Overview

Laurent advises (local and international) investors, developers, landlords and tenants on all aspects of commercial real estate in Belgium and Luxembourg as well as cross-border. Laurent has a particular interest in real estate transactions and projects in Central Africa (more particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda).

He focuses on (asset and corporate/M&A) real estate transactions, the structuring of real estate development projects (offices, hotels, residential, retail, logistics and industrial), construction law, sale-and-leaseback operations, as well as (VAT and non-VAT) lease and other occupation agreements. He has experience with complex real estate litigation and legal questions related to the integration of business models inspired on the circular economy principle.

Education and qualifications

Laurent holds a Master of Law degree from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (during which he studied one semester at the University of Uppsala in Sweden) and a Master’s in Notary Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

He is fluent in Dutch, French and English.
