Overview
Andy is the Global Head of the Firm’s Real Estate practice. He has been at Linklaters over 25 years and has extensive experience in the acquisition, financing, development, letting and disposal of all types of commercial real estate both in the UK and Continental Europe.
Andy is listed as a Leading Individual in Legal 500 and ranked in Chambers. He is a Trustee and Chairman of Barts Charity, a leading healthcare charity, and chairs their appointments and remuneration committee.
Work highlights
Andy has led on many major real estate transactions. Highlights include advising:
- Ho Bee Land on their £718m acquisition of The Scalpel trophy office building in the City of London;
- A major pan-European core fund as it expands across Europe;
£1.9bn Birmingham Smithfield City Centre development covering 17 hectares;
JV with Starwood Capital to acquire and deliver the £3.5bn Silvertown Quays development;
£1.5bn on-going redevelopment of Elephant and Castle London SE1 comprising over 300,000 square metres of new build, mixed use development;
- Glencore on the pre-let of their HQ premises in Hanover Square;
- Shuaa Group on several projects including its £370m acquisition and subsequent development of New Scotland Yard, London; and
- A consortium member on its investment in a €6.4 billion global portfolio of circa 900 hotels.

Outside his life at Linklaters, Andy is a Trustee and Chairman of Barts Charity, a leading healthcare charity, and chairs their appointments and remuneration committee.
Education and qualifications
Andy studied law at Reading University, where he obtained a First.
