Linklaters strengthens its Dutch corporate team with hire of Guido Portier as partner
Linklaters has strengthened its corporate capability in Amsterdam with the hire of Guido Portier as a Civil Law Notary partner.
Guido Portier joins Linklaters from Loyens & Loeff where he was a partner for ten years in its corporate practice. From 2005 to 2009 he headed the corporate practice in the firm’s New York office.
Guido Portier has been involved in numerous equity capital market transactions including IPOs. In addition, he has broad experience in the field of cross-border M&A, joint ventures, buy-outs, PE and financing transactions for domestic and international clients. He also advises on corporate governance issues on a regular basis. Recent complex deals that Guido has advised on include the cross border mergers and listings of Altice (Euronext), Fiat Chrysler and Ferrari (NYSE).
Guido Portier’s election is a result of Linklaters’ strategy to strengthen its capability in the Dutch market. With Guido Portier joining the firm, Linklaters’ Amsterdam practice will further enhance its capability to advise both domestic and international clients.
Recent deals Linklaters’ Amsterdam team has advised on include the merger of Delhaize and Ahold, the IPO of Flow Traders, Refresco-Gerber and GrandVision, the sale of LeasePlan to a consortium of investors and the sale of REAAL to Anbang Insurance Group.
Guido Portier will join Linklaters on 1 January 2016.
