Linklaters travel with volunteers to Cape Town with Mellon Educate
From 11-18 November 2017, over 275 volunteers traveled to Cape Town with Mellon Educate. Mellon Educate is an international volunteer-based charity which has embarked on a ten-year initiative to provide educational assistance for more than 100,000 of South Africa's poorest children. Three of the volunteers this November were from Linklaters. Duncan Campbell (PSL), Kerry Wood (EEA Marketing Account Assistant) and Lucianne Powell (HR Advisor). They spent one week helping to renovate and extend facilities in three schools in Khayelitsha, Cape Town's largest township and an area of great deprivation.
Since returning from their trip, they have reflected on their experiences and have prepared this short video, introduced by Linklaters Senior Partner Charlie Jacobs and with contributions from Deborah Morris (UK Head of Business Development at Mellon Educate) and Sean Dennis (Veteran Blitz Volunteer).
