Overview

Andreia Amaral Santos is an Associate in the Competition Department of the Lisbon office.

Her legal experience encompasses the areas of data protection, insurance, IP&IT rights and competition law, providing not only regulatory advice in these areas but also due diligence support and risk assessment advice on these elements of the transactional work the Lisbon office is specialised in, such as M&A and SPA transactions.

Clients include domestic and international corporate clients in Portugal and Portuguese Speaking Countries, such as insurance companies and other multinational corporate clients, investment funds, banks and auditor firms. 

Professional experience

Andreia started her legal career in 2015 with the Lisbon office of Linklaters, when she joined as Junior Associate. She got promoted to Associate in 2017, and since then is working in the Competition Department of the Lisbon office.

Education and qualifications

Andreia holds a Law Degree of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (2014).

She then obtained a Master in Corporate Law from the Portuguese Catholic University (2017) with a thesis on “The Role of Gatekeepers in the Portuguese Corporate Governance Regime.”

Andreia furthermore attended to the Competition Law and Regulation post-graduate course at the Lisbon University Law School (2019), completed an advanced course on Cybersecurity and Cyberspace Law promoted by the Portuguese Military Academy and the Lisbon University Law School (2018), and a short course on Personal Data Protection (2017) organised by the NOVA Lisbon School of Law.

She is a fully qualified Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2017.

Andreia speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish.
