  • Renewable Energy Deal of the Year
    Dragon Sea Project – Hai Long

    Linklaters advised the sponsors including Mitsui on the development and financing of the approx. US$3.7bn 1GW+ Hai Long offshore wind farm project involving EDC, JBIC, NEXI, UKEF, EFA, Eksfin and Credendo. This is the largest offshore wind financing in Asia to date and the first CPPA backed financing in the Taiwan market.

  • Oil & Gas Deal of the Year – Petchem
    Line Project
    Linklaters advised the financiers (including KEXIM, K-SURE) on the financing of the Lotte Chemical sponsored Naphtha Cracker Project in the Banten province of Indonesia.
  • Renewable Energy Deal of the Year – Offshore Wind
    Jeonnam 1

    Linklaters advised the lenders on the US$480m (KRW 615bn) financing of the Jeonnam 1 offshore wind farm project located in South Jeolla Province – this is the first internationally sponsored and financed offshore wind project in South Korea.
  • Refinance Deal of the Year – Onshore Wind
    Project Typhoon

    Linklaters advised the lenders on the refinancing of three onshore wind projects owned by Macquarie Asset Management and wpd’s Taiwan business.
  • Oil & Gas Deal of the Year – LNG Terminal
    HK Offshore LNG Terminal Project 

    Linklaters advised CLP on the development on the LNG Import terminal for Hong Kong SAR, including advising on project structuring and risks, LNG procurement, chartering of an FRSU and related services.
  • Transport Deal of the Year – Airport 
    Project Bamboo Grove

    Linklaters advised Airport Authority Hong Kong on its multi-tranche issuance of US$3bn Reg S/144A senior green notes, including the US$500m 4.875% notes due 2026, US$700m 4.875% notes due 2030, US$800m 4.875% notes due 2033 and US$1bn 4.750% green notes due 2028.
  • Energy Transition Deal of the Year, Europe
    Project ONE, INEOS

    Linklaters advised INEOS Olefins Belgium on the development and €3.5bn financing to support the construction and operation of Project ONE, which is set to be the most environmentally sustainable ethane cracker in Europe.

    Baltic Power Offshore Wind Farm

    Linklaters has advised a group of commercial lenders, ECAs and multilateral financial institutions on the development and $5.2bn non-recourse green financing of the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, which is owned by ORLEN (51%) and Northland Power (49%).

    Linklaters has advised a syndicate of banks and funds in connection with the financial restructuring of the 299MW Tees Renewable Energy Plant, the world’s largest pellet biomass power plant.

  • Renewable Energy Deal of the Year – Portfolio Financing, Europe
    Bruc Energy’s 6GW Renewable Platform

    Linklaters acted as legal advisers to the arrangers in connection with the €600m HoldCo financing of Bruc Energy, S.L. (Spanish IPP backed by USS and OPT) to partially finance the construction and operation of a portfolio of solar photovoltaic and wind generation plants of 8.5 GW in Spain.
  • Gigafactory Deal of the Year, Europe
    AESC Gigafactory Project in Douai, France

    Linklaters has acted as counsel to the lenders and the European Investment Bank (EIB) on the financing of the Envision AESC electric battery gigafactory in Douai. The funding will provide a battery supply of 9 GWh to power 200,000 electric vehicles produced by Renault each year from 2025. This investment is the first of four battery gigafactories planned in the Hauts-de-France region. 
  • Refinance Deal of the Year – Offshore Wind, Europe
    Saint-Nazaire Refinance

    Linklaters advised the lenders on the refinancing package for the Saint Nazaire offshore wind farm in France.
  • Digital Infrastructure Deal of the Year – Towers, Europe
    Project Oak / Vantage Towers

    Linklaters advised Vodafone Group PLC on its co-control joint venture partnership with Oak Holdings – a consortium led by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) and KKR for the voluntary takeover of Vantage Towers AG.
  • Transport Deal of the Year, Africa
    Cape Verde Airports Concession

    Linklaters advised the development banks IFC, Proparco and DEG on the financing of Vinci Airports for the concession of Cape Verde's airports. Vinci Group will consequently take over the management of 4 international airports and 3 aerodromes, in what is an important milestone for the modernisation of the archipelago.
  • Sustainability-Linked Deal of the Year, Africa
    Gold Fields' Sustainability-Linked RCF

    Linklaters advised Gold Fields Limited on their US$1.2bn sustainability-linked revolving credit facility. This is Gold Fields' first sustainability linked loan and is linked to the achievement of three ESG priorities: decarbonization, gender diversity and water stewardship.
