UK, EU - EU Commission publishes long-awaited report on AIFMD

On 10 June 2020, the EU Commission published its report on the application and scope of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive. The report fulfils the mandate of the Commission to review the impact of AIFMD on investors, AIFs and AIFMs, and the degree to which the objectives of AIFMD have been met. At only ten pages, the report is relatively short on detail. However, it is interesting for what it doesn’t say just as much as what it does say.
