Singapore Court grants proprietary injunction over a ‘Bored Ape’ NFT
In Janesh s/o Rajkumar v Unknown Person (“Chefpierre”), the Singapore High Court granted a freezing injunction to restrain an unknown person, who goes online as Chefpierre, from dealing with a Bored Ape NFT. Central to this decision was the Court’s extension of existing legal definitions of property to a digital NFT, and to accept jurisdiction notwithstanding limited links to Singapore.
