Arnaud de La Cotardière appointed Managing Partner of Linklaters in Paris
Linklaters has appointed Arnaud de La Cotardière as the Managing Partner of its Paris office. The appointment is for a four-year term. As Managing Partner, Arnaud will focus on driving the Paris office strategy and in particular on strengthening client relationships.
The mandate of the previous management committee came to an end in December 2008. It was decided to simplify the management system by appointing a sole managing partner, mirroring the structure common to the majority of Linklaters' offices. Nathalie Hobbs and Alain Garnier will focus full-time on the banking and corporate practices respectively.
Linklaters’ Paris office has been recognised for its involvement in some of the most complex and prestigious deals, both nationally and internationally. Numerous practices in Paris have been ranked as leaders by both Chambers and Legal 500 and the firm was recently ranked as the leading adviser on M&A in France over the past three years, having acted on 169 deals totalling €209,862m*. Linklaters acted on four of the five biggest deals in France over the same period, advising:
- on the merger between Gaz de France and Suez;
- Caisse des dépôts et consignations in relation to their shareholding in Eiffage and the exit of Sacyr;
- Vinci S.A. on the financing of the acquisition of 77.01% of the share capital and voting rights of Autoroutes du Sud de la France;
- Morgan Stanley as financial adviser to Unibail on its recommended public offer for Rodamco.
