Hong Kong Court considers whether cryptocurrency is property

In Re Gatecoin Ltd [2023] HKCFI 914, the Court considered, for the first time in Hong Kong whether cryptocurrency is “property" and is capable of being held on trust. The case has a number of implications and ramifications outside the four corners of the decision.
