Carbon Credits - Phase IV of EU ETS: Key changes
The European Union Emissions Trading System (the “EU ETS”) will, as of 1 January 2021, enter into Phase IV of its development. Phase IV will focus on measures to further reduce greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions between 2021 and 2030. These Phase IV changes may be of interest to those in the derivatives and structured products space involved in trading of EUAs, repackaging of EUAs or arranging structured products referencing EUAs.
