Getting over the line: clearing regulatory hurdles to outbound M&A

Linklaters launches report on Chinese outbound M&A at China Development Forum in Beijing

A simple and efficient solution to adapting EU law for an orderly Brexit

On 27 June, Linklaters will launch a report produced with the International Regulatory Strategy Group proposing a simple and efficient approach to the adoption and adaptation of EU and EU-derived law in the UK which will ensure continuity and reduce risk and uncertainty after Brexit.

Following on from the EU Commission’s December 2010 consultation to reform the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), the Commission published its legislative proposals, taking the form of a revised Directive (MiFID II) and a new Regulation (MiFIR).

Both MiFID II and MiFIR entered into force on 2 July 2014 (20 days after publication), and are required to be transposed into national law by 3 July 2017.
