EU MiFID II Review may move closer to the UK Wholesale Markets Review

The European Parliament’ Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON) has published a draft report with suggested amendments to the European Commission’s MiFID II review proposals to amend MiFIR. Several of the proposed amendments would (if agreed and implemented at the end of the EU legislative process) bring the EU MiFID regime closer in line with the UK’s MiFID regime following the UK Wholesale Markets Review and UK quick fix changes.
