Retail Investment Strategy: Are you ready for trilogues?
The EU Retail Investment Strategy will overhaul key investor protection requirements in MiFID II and other sectoral legislation.
The reform package includes new rules on value for money and significant proposals to amend current rules on inducements, suitability and appropriateness assessments, costs and charges disclosures, marketing communications, risk warnings, cross-border service provision, competency requirements, elective professional client opt-up criteria and PRIIPs KID requirements.
As we are about to enter the trilogue process on these impactful reforms, in this webinar we took you through the key proposals and the different stances taken by the European Commission, European Parliament and Council on each topic.
We also compared the proposals with relevant UK requirements (such as the FCA Consumer Duty).
