Focus on FSMA: chronicle of case law from the creation of the Sanctions Committee to the present day

Do you manage a company active in the financial services and markets sector?
Are you a lawyer in such a company?
Are you a lawyer and your clients include companies from this sector?
Then this book is for you!

The FSMA, the Belgian financial services and markets authority, supervises the Belgian financial sector alongside the National Bank of Belgium. In order to carry out its mission, the FSMA has broad powers of investigation and sanction. It is therefore an actor that companies active in the financial services and markets sector cannot ignore. When these firms fail to comply with the rules supervised by the FSMA, they may be subject to one or more administrative sanctions following a procedure before the FSMA's Sanctions Committee. They may also be offered a settlement with the FSMA's Management Board in order to avoid proceedings before the Sanctions Committee.

This book consists of an analysis of all settlements and sanction decisions available on the FSMA website as of September 7, 2020. It will enable the reader to become familiar with the way the FSMA interprets financial regulations and conducts sanction proceedings.
