The European Commission has proposed sweeping reforms to EU financial regulation: the Market Integration Package. Published on 4 December 2025, the MIP forms a central part of the EU's Savings and Investment Union strategy.
The MIP amends several important EU regimes including EMIR, MiFIR, CSDR, MiCA, SFTR, BMR, AIFMD and the UCITS Directive. The proposals will have wide-ranging impacts on both European and international financial services firms.
