Getting ready for the Hague Judgments Convention 2019 – Entry into force for the UK
On 1 July 2025 the 2019 Hague Judgments Convention (HJC) enters into force for the United Kingdom. This is an important event as, amongst other things, it will alter the post-Brexit legal landscape for the recognition and enforcement of court judgments from the EU Member States (excluding Denmark) in the UK and vice versa. It is therefore a development of relevance to both disputes and transactional lawyers alike.
