EU MiFID: ESMA publishes second statement on the application of the MiFID II/MiFIR Review changes

ESMA has published a second statement on the transition for the application of the MiFID II/MiFIR review. This is intended to complement ESMA’s first statement issued on 27 March 2024 and the European Commission’s interpretative notice on the MiFIR transitional provisions. Importantly, ESMA’s statement appears to suggest that some changes to MiFID II are already applicable, irrespective of whether these have been locally implemented in Member States.
