EU proposals to amend Benchmarks Regulation envisage significant reduction of scope

The EU Commission has published proposals to amend the EU Benchmarks Regulation, together with FAQs. The proposal is to reduce the mandatory scope of the EU BMR so that is just covers critical benchmarks, significant benchmarks, EU climate transition benchmarks and EU Paris-Aligned Benchmarks, meaning that the regulatory burden on providers of any other benchmarks is eliminated.
