"I am a partner in Linklaters' Private Equity and Financial Sponsors Team in London, with experience acting across M&A, co-investments, disposals, restructurings, portfolio company issues and management investment plans. I act for a number of private equity and other financial sponsors, delivering complex transactions in highly competitive processes."


Education and qualifications


Ben has worked in both Melbourne and London on cross-border M&A deals across a number of sectors including healthcare, tech and infrastructure. He regularly advises private equity houses and other financial sponsor clients on all types of leveraged M&A, co-investments, disposals, restructurings and portfolio company issues. Ben has been recognised as a Rising Star by The Legal 500 for high-value private equity transactions.

Ben has also undertaken a secondment to Centerbridge Partners as interim European General Counsel. Prior to joining Linklaters, Ben was an associate at a top tier Anglo-Australian law firm.

  • Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board on its disposal of its 50% stake in Arqiva to Digital 9 Infrastructure in 2022
  • Carlyle on its acquisition of Anthesis, a leading global pure-play sustainability advisory and solutions firm in 2023

Education and qualifications

Ben holds Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (major in Economics) degrees from Monash University, Australia. Ben also holds a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (Australia).

Ben is admitted as a lawyer to the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Federal Court of Australia and England and Wales.
