Overview

Michael is a German corporate partner based in Frankfurt and a member of the Technology, Media & Telecommunication (TMT) team.

Specialised in non-contentious advice on complex commercial and IT contracts, in particular in connection with cross-border transactions, he also excels in sourcing transactions (ITO and BPO) and carve-outs in connection with M&A transactions and restructurings.

Michael advises on legal issues arising from new technologies and their use as well as digitalization, for example on AI, FinTech and InsurTech, business models of the digital economy or the Industrial Internet and Smart Factories.

He is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and Copyright Law (GRUR e.V.).

Professional experience

Before joining Linklaters as a TMT Partner, Michael held the position of a local partner at a major international law firm and before that the position of a counsel at another magic circle law firm.

He published several articles, including one on the transfer of contracts in carve-out transactions and one on intellectual property in carve-out transactions.

Education and qualifications

Michael studied Law at the Ruperto-Carola-University of Heidelberg and obtained a Juris Doctor there with the grade summa cum laude.
