Overview

Simon has extensive experience advising investment banks and corporate clients on a broad range of capital markets transactions, with a particular focus on debt and liability management.

Work highlights

Simon has advised on many of the market’s most significant capital markets deals. These include advising:

  • EVRAZ plc on the issuance of $700,000,000 5.250% bonds due 2024
  • The joint lead managers on the debut two tranche $1bn bond deal for the Republic of Uzbekistan
  • The joint lead managers on new issues and liability management on many debt issues including issuances by Alrosa, Development Bank of Kazakhstan, Eurochem, Gazprom, KMG, Metalloinvest, NLMK, Norilsk Nickel, Polyus Gold, Renaissance Capital, Russian Railways, Severstal and TMK.

Professional experience

Simon has worked in the Firm’s London, New York and Moscow offices as well as having been seconded to Citigroup Global Markets Limited, Credit Suisse in New York and Lehman Brothers International (Europe).

He speaks English.

Education and qualifications

Simon studied Economics at Exeter University. He then studied a Postgraduate Diploma in Law at Nottingham Law School, followed by the Legal Practice Course in London.
