Overview

Tim specializes in corporate law advice in the context of national and international acquisition transactions including public takeovers, corporate restructurings as well as corporate law, in particular stock corporation and capital market law advice to companies and groups of companies, including corporate governance issues, compliance and general meeting support. 

He is a member of the German Executive Team and the ESG Working Group.

Work highlights

Tim has advised on a range of significant cases. These include:

  • STADA: advising on the acquisition of various CHC brands of a pan-European pharmaceutical group.
  • Wintershall Dea: advising on its initial access to the debt capital market through a bond placement with a volume of €4 bn and the simultaneous preparation of its planned IPO.
  • BASF: advising on the auction sale of its construction chemicals business to private equity firm Lone Star for a purchase price over €3bn.
  • UBS: advising on the sale of its Spanish wealth management business to Singular Bank, S.A.
  • Deere & Company: advising on the US$5.2bn acquisition of Wirtgen Group.
  • Bayer: advising on the carve-out of its plastic division Bayer Material Science with 60 countries involved.
  • Fresenius Medical Care, Fresenius: advising on all relevant aspects of corporate governance and other capital market-related corporate law, on an ongoing basis.
  • Merck: advising on the annual general meeting and other questions of capital market related corporate law.
  • Santander Consumer Finance: corporate structural advice on the strategic joint venture with Hyundai Capital Group with regard to the provision of financial services for products of Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motor Corporation.
  • Sixt Leasing: advising on general corporate law matters as well as in the context of employee participation programs.
  • A listed automotive supplier: advising the supervisory board on corporate law issues.

Professional experience

Tim has worked for Linklaters since 2001 and was appointed partner in 2009. 

He is a member of the Corporate Law Association (VGR).

Education and qualifications

Tim studied law at the University of Cologne, where he later also earned his doctorate.

He speaks German, English and French.
