Overview

Tom is a Managing Associate in the M&A team in London, with experience acting for financial sponsors and corporates across public and private M&A, co-investments and joint-ventures, disposals, portfolio company issues and management investment plans.

Work highlights

Tom’s experience includes advising:

  • iCON Infrastructure on the £910m acquisition of Alliance Medical from Life Healthcare;
  • Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners on its consortium with Spirit Super and the acquisition of Geelong Ports from Brookfield and State Super, reported to value the business at A$1.1bn;
  • Management shareholders on the sale of PRP Diagnostic Imaging by Crescent Capital to IFM Investors and UniSuper, reported to value the business at A$800m;
  • Hillhouse Capital on its investment in One Stop Warehouse;
  • BGH Capital portfolio company Navitas on the sale of SAE Institute to Ardian portfolio company AD Education;
  • BC Partners on the acquisition of the Davies Group from HGGC, AIMCo and Permira, reported to value the business at £1.2bn;
  • The Welsh Rugby Union on CVC Capital Partners’ acquisition of a 14.3% stake in Six Nations Rugby; and
  • DigitalBridge on the acquisition and financing of a number of digital billboard businesses across Europe.

Professional experience

Between 2022 and 2023, Tom spent 18 months on secondment at Allens, Linklaters’ alliance partner in Sydney, Australia. 

In 2017, Tom spent 6 months on secondment at Centerbridge Partners in London, where he advised on Private Equity, Real Estate and Credit transactions as well as general legal and compliance matters.

Prior to joining the Linklaters M&A team in 2016, Tom also spent time working in Linklaters’ Leveraged Finance and Investment Funds practices in London and Banking and Projects practice in Singapore.

Education and qualifications

Tom holds a Law degree from the University of York and completed the Accelerated Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Moorgate.
