Overview
David is an Associate in Linklaters’ New York office and a member of the U.S. Investment Funds Group. He focuses his practice on representing fund sponsors, asset managers and investors regarding the formation and operation of private investment funds across diverse strategies. He has experience in infrastructure, real estate and private equity work, assisting with both transactional and advisory matters for a broad range of clients. He also advises clients on various matters, including co-investments, joint stock companies and the formation of onshore and offshore investment structures.
David has represented a diverse group of fund sponsors, asset managers and institutional investors, including, among others, Aermont, AIG Asset Management, Ardian, DRA Advisors, DuPont Capital Management, J.P. Morgan and the Macquarie Group.
Professional experience
Prior to joining the U.S. Investment Funds Group, David also worked on matters for the Banking, Capital Markets, Corporate/M&A and Energy & Infrastructure practice groups. He previously served as a Summer Associate in the Capital Markets group in Linklaters’ Singapore office.
While in law school, David served as a Legal Honors Intern in the Division Enforcement of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, a judicial intern to the Honorable Carmen Velasquez and worked on GDPR-related matters at a boutique law firm in Washington D.C. Prior to attending law school, he worked as a research assistant for two Harvard professors and at a Singaporean multinational bank.
Education and qualifications
David received his B.A. from Boston University and holds a Juris Doctorate from The George Washington University Law School, where he graduated with honors and served as the Notes Editor for The George Washington Law Review.
David is a member of the New York State Bar and is fluent in Korean.
