Proximus acquires 100% of the share capital in BICS

Linklaters assisted Proximus SA/NV in reaching an agreement with MTN (Dubai) Limited and Swisscom (Schweiz) AG, the two minority shareholders of Belgacom International Carrier Services SA/NV, on the acquisition of their respective stakes of 22.4% and 20.0% of the shares in BICS for a total cash consideration of €217m. Proximus now holds 100% of the shares in BICS.

BICS is a global leader in digital communications, cloud communication services, and mobility and IoT, addressing business-critical needs of telecom players, virtual network operators, service providers, enterprise software providers and global enterprises. Over the past years, BICS has considerably diversified its activities, showing strong growth potential in new business domains such as roaming, IoT and cloud communication.
