Linklaters advises TAURON Group on a PLN 4bn sustainability linked loan

Linklaters has advised the TAURON Group on obtaining financing from a consortium of banks comprising Powszechna Kasa Oszczędności Bank Polski S.A., Bank Polska Kasa Opieki S.A., CaixaBank S.A. (Spółka Akcyjna) Branch in Poland, Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A., Erste Group Bank AG, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Europe) S.A. Branch in Poland, Santander Bank Polska S.A. and China Construction Bank (Europe) S.A. Branch in Poland for a total amount of PLN 4bn. The proceeds of the financing will be used to refinance the Group's debt, finance investments in renewable energy and general corporate expenses but, in each case, may not be spent to finance any coal assets. The facility agreement includes a sustainability linked margin adjustment mechanism, and the compliance with the relevant KPIs will be reviewed by an independent auditor.
