Linklaters advises BlackRock on £500m Gravity Edge data centre joint venture with DGP

Linklaters has advised BlackRock on the formation of a new £500m data centre operating platform Gravity Edge, a joint venture between BlackRock and DGP, a specialist digital infrastructure investor and advisor.

The platform’s strategy is to acquire, expand and refurbish enterprise data centres in key UK locations where supply has been constrained by power availability. These data centres will support the evolving demands from businesses for high-density compute capabilities. Boosting the UK’s overall data centre capacity, the program will finance the modernization of data centres to better serve blue-chip companies with enhanced cloud solutions.

The team was led by Corporate partner Tom Watkins, supported by Tax partner Alexei Franks and Real Estate counsel Jack Shand.
