Overview

Aya is an associate in the structured finance group. She has UK and cross-border experience across a broad range of financing solutions including whole business securitisations, residential mortgage-backed and receivables securitisations, project financings and acquisition financings. Aya has worked in Linklaters’ London, Tokyo and Frankfurt offices and is involved in the firm’s FinTech and LegalTech initiatives.

Work highlights

Select experience includes advising:

  • A leading German digital consumer credit platform provider: Advising on multiple asset-backed financings.
  • The second largest electricity distributor in Sweden: Advising on its annual EMTN programme updates and the issuance of green bonds under its common debt platform.
  • Various water and sewerage companies: Advising on the full range of their ongoing financing arrangements, including annual EMTN programme updates, bond drawdowns and bank debt financing and refinancing.
  • A financial sponsor: Advising on the refinancing of its residential mortgage-backed securitisation and establishment of a residential mortgage-backed warehouse financing.
  • A sponsor: Advising on the financing of its bid to acquire a minority stake in a German utilities provider.
  • A consortium of Japanese financial institutions: Advising on their investment in a UK rail service provider.

Professional experience

Aya joined Linklaters in 2017 as a Trainee Solicitor and began working as an Structured Finance Associate in 2019. 

She is part of the London Legal innovation and efficiency committee.  

 

Education and qualifications

Aya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law from the University of Cambridge with 1st Class Honours and a Master of Science in Law and Business.

She speaks English und French.
