Overview

Jasper is an Associate in our Belgian Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations practice. He joined Linklaters in 2018 after graduating as Master of Law at the KU Leuven (specialisation Research Master, magna cum laude).

Jasper advises and represents clients in a broad range of commercial litigation and other contentious situations. His practice primarily focuses on regulatory investigations and risk management, with a particular focus on technology & telecom, financial compliance and energy.

In addition to his work as a lawyer, Jasper was an assistant lecturer at the Institute of Civil Procedure of the KU Leuven between 2019 and 2022.

Experience highlights

  • advising various major Belgian corporates in relation to FSMA investigations into potential breaches of the MAR obligations concerning the disclosure of inside information;
  • advising an individual in relation to an FSMA investigation into potential breaches of the MAR prohibition of market manipulation;
  • assisting a supplier of electricity and natural gas in the framework of an investigation by a regulator regarding compliance with the public service obligations imposed on energy suppliers, advising the supplier in particular on its obligations, risk exposure and dealings with the regulator;
  • defending a global technology multinational in collective redress proceedings before the Belgian courts and coordinating its defence throughout Europe.

Professional experience

Jasper joined Linklaters in 2018. As of 2019, he also took on a position as assistant lecturer at the Institute of Civil Procedure of the KU Leuven.
